Biography

Although today images are more dominant than ever before and tomorrow more than today, creating images has been underestimated. There are so many beautiful images available on so many channels that it is taken for granted. As an amateur photographer, I know better. The respect for the great and famous photographers increases with every picture I take. Henri Cartier-Bresson once said “Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst”. So true.

As a photographer, I am still exploring. I am not limited by 1 theme or 1 technique. Preferences arise along the way but I am still to  eager to learn. Photography for me is a hobby and relaxation but at the same time I do take it seriously. Creating an image starts with a well-prepared photo and accurate post-processing. I am not looking to record a beautiful object realistically but a creatively surreal reality.

Fortunately, men do not age but mature 😉 More than 50 years of life experience should prove that. That, of course, is not for me to judge. For the past 10 years, I have been out and about regularly with my camera and like-minded people from Fotoclub Doesburg. Somewhere in the Netherlands, with a critical eye and opinion, we are capturing stories in images.
